TRADE POLICY

We have given a lot of thought about allowing trades again and have tried to find a solution for the many people who have a horse that they want to trade rather than sell to the public.  In trying to determine how to handle the multiple calls and emails we get regarding trading the first thing we found is most people want to trade a horse with issues, a horse that is not broke to ride, or one with health issues.  We have a lot of expenses in keeping horses, feed, vet, farrier, fuel, our own bills and our time and we must be able to afford those things in order to continue on with this business.  Trading means we do not have a cash flow, so we have decided on a criteria for trade horses, and a minimal amount of cash along with a trade (if your horse is something we can deal with).

1.  All trades must be broke to ride, we do not train horses, we have to send them to a trainer.  Exceptions to this would be a flashy or registered horse that we can profit on after they go to a trainer.

2.  We do not ever accept studs, we do not have the facilities to keep one and we have to many mares to deal with a stud.

3.  We do take broodmares, but the most we are going to pay for a bred mare is 300.00 if they are registered and we have all the paperwork on them and the foal.

4.  We will be marking horses with a full cash price and also a price with a trade (if the trade falls into the well broke and without issue catagory.

Ex:  We mark a horse 1500.00 cash price and then there will also be a price say, 750.00 plus trade, the 750.00 is the minimum cash amount I will take along with a trade.  If your trying to sell me a reg. broodmare that cash price will be higher, because 300.00 is the very most I will pay on one.  If your trying to trade me a horse with issues, don't plan on us giving you more than 200.00 towards a trade, because if we can't work out the issue, were then have to pay a trainer to do it for us before we can sell your horse.

Here is how it breaks down:  Cash price 1600.00, cash minimum 750.00, the difference = 850.00 and that is what you are getting on your trade, if you need more than that difference, you would need to sell your horse yourself and then buy the horse you desire at the cash price.  I am not going to negotiate the cash amount on a trade, we have to have cash to run this business and pay our bills.  We have to make a profit.

I reserve the right to refuse any trade and not give the total difference on a trade, that deal is based on you trading us a sound, well broke horse without issues or health problems.

If you think your trade is worth more than the difference in the cash price and the minimum cash I can accept with your trade, then you would need to sell your horse yourself, rather trading with us, we do this to make a profit and hopefully not get hurt in the process.

*** Yes, there is exceptions***  That we will post with each horse and exceptions that we are willing to make and the reason why.  I really need geldings, so I'm really able to work some deals on the mares we currently have.

NOTE:  WHEN YOU BRING YOUR HORSE OUT FOR US TO CHECK HIM OUT, PLEASE BE PREPARED TO RIDE HIM FIRST.  I HAVE BEEN HURT TO MANY TIMES AND PREFER TO BE CAREFUL WITH NEW HORSES.  I WILL RIDE YOUR TRADE AFTER YOU DO, BUT IF YOU CAN'T RIDE THEM I'M NOT GOING TO EITHER.
