LEVI
Joined our herd August 12, 2008
10 year old, 15.2 hand chestnut and white paint gelding, wonderful attitude, great ground manners, stands tied quitely, loads and unloads great. Stands still for brushing and fly spray, picks up all four feet, not spooky at all, stands still for saddling, mount and dismount, has a good rein on him, but his reverse does not work very well.
We have taken him trail riding and he did wonderful, no spook, no side stepping, easy to control, crossed logs, went through brush, walked around in the tank and he handled everything with ease.
He has a wonderful trot that is easy on the back side, and lope that is great!
Very nice big gelding...............will make someone a nice horse 1650.00
SOLD-THANK YOU GERALD-CLYDE, TX.

Sam
|
|
Sam: 11 year old buckskin gelding, very flashy about 14.1 hands and solid. We have been working with Sam on standing still and today he was 100% still for mount, tomorrow might be different, but it was a first, we also have him backing up, which he learned in 2 rides, he is light in the mouth and prefers to be rode that way, he just about has neck reining down, but he direct reins easily........HE IS SMART, SMART, SMART! No hump, no buck and no kicking out. Today 7/11/08 we did our first trail ride and he did great, didn't care if he moved away from the other horse or if my husbands horse loped away from us, he side stepped when we went through a field full of grasshoppers, but did not run away. His trot is easy to sit and comfortable and he has a nice lope. Absolutely awesome for trail riding. UPDATE: Sam is not an arena horse, he does well at trail riding, but he had no interest in the barrels, where I could lope him out on the trail he wanted to do no more than trot in the arena. He is now standing 100% still for mounting and he is backing up like a champ. He is smart, but he would take some working with to make him an arena horse.
He does have some problems we are working through. 1. Is picking up his feet, you go to pick them up and he sets back when tied up...............we will be working on that one, untied I had picked up all four feet and then last night I went to clean his hooves while he was tied up and he set back..............not sure on that one.

Dixie
|
Dixie: 10 year old mare, been with the trainer for the last 30 days, she was already broke to ride, but hard to get her to give her head, she rides good, now gives her head........she is just a very gentle trail horse, that would be great for someone that doesn't want to speed, but safety instead. She is about 15.1 hands, maybe a little more.
Very possible that this mare is pregnant. I sent her for training and she did great, but the trainer asked me if she could be pregnant and so per the prior owner, there is the possibility that she is. I have lowered her price accordingly. I will give any buyer the prior owners name and number and you can check with him on the stud, all I recall is that he was papered and good looking stud.
Took this mare in on trade a few months ago, not an auction barn horse.
SOLD - THANK YOU - RONALD, BROWNWOOD, TX

BOB aka SPIKE
Joined our herd 7/12/08
Bob AKA Spike: 13 year old sorrel ranch gelding, 15.2 Hands, worked on cattle, has had the rope thrown off of him and will hold anything, neck reins, backs, gentle, easy to handle. He has a rather interesting cut on his tail and his mane has been roached. I am assuming, from being out in the brush, I should have asked, but was amazed by his riding ability, not his hair cut. More info to come
7/14/08 Bob's first ride, incredible, some how I just knew he would be, he handles wonderful, neck reins, backs, quite, doesn't mind the rope, loped around the barrels, awesome ground manner, great with the dogs, horses and humans too :)............Gotta love Bob! Still not wild about his hair cut, it's why we started calling him spike, still not sure why they did that to him. Tentative price is 1500.00 Bob has shoes on that need to come off, not sure when we will get the farrier back out here, hopefully soon. No problems throwing the rope off of him, he has definetly worked the rope. Nice big gelding with a ugly hair cut.
SOLD-THANK YOU JAMES, LUBBOCK, TX.

You gotta love Bob with the bad hair cut. He is about 15.3 hands, incredible ground manners, jumps right in the trailer and will back out, great rein on him, we have thrown the rope on him, and he will work a rope, and we ran the barrels on him, super smooth, backs up no problem, easy to catch......................He is a perfect gentleman, no matter if your trail riding, working a cow (he will spin), running the barrels, so far he has been ridden by a confident beginner, intermediate and advance rider and has done well with everyone.

McDreamy
Joined our herd 8/12/08
McDreamy is a 16.1 hand Sabino (light red roan) gelding. He is living up to his name, he is incredibly gentle, puts his head in the halter himself, lowers his head for you to put the bridle on and reaches for the bit. Catch him anywhere, picks up all four feet, stands tied quite, 100% still for brushing, fly spray, never moves when mounting or dismounting. Neck reins, backs, collects his head, can ride him bare back, waller all over him, sit behind the saddle doesn't bother him lay on him, over him, sit under him................he is just as dreamy as his name. We had 3 beginners on him and one for trail riding and wow, never spooked...........loved eating the sunflowers along the way, didn't try and come back to the house, wonderful gait, trot....................oh, so smooth lope, he is very easy to handle.
His coggins did not match him, so we had him aged by the trainer at 12 years old, and will have the farrier age him also, as he does need his feet trimmed. He is gentle for anyone and I don't expect him to change. You will go along way to find a horse like him, because they just don't come along very often. If we didn't have so many we call our own now, he would never leave here. SOLD-THANK YOU THE LANES-MIDLAND TEXAS.

Buford

BUFORD: This flashy little mule is just awesome! Bay with 4 white stockings and about 11.3 hands or thereabouts. He is broke to halter, lead and saddle, and rides good. The only fault that I have found with him is he can be hard to catch, but he is very gentle and loving and likes treats. He does not buck or crow hop, easy to rein and rides good! We are going to try using him to pony some young horses we have and packing, he has great feet and is sound and healthy and slicked off.............300.00 Buyer never showed up...........price is firm.
SOLD TO VICKE AND EARNEST...............He'll be going to New Mexico!
