T BAR M RANCH

Recently we have sold some horses for other folks, and so we decided that we could take on a few consignment horses and broker them for a fee.

We have the space to take on 5 in total, the reason we cannot take on more than that, is space and time to keep them properly rode.  We have 2 spots under the barn and 3 for pasture.

What does consignment mean?  We keep your horse here and we do all the advertising, riding, feeding, showing, we set the appointments and do all phone calls, picture/video taking.

How does it work.  We have a contract, the contract length is 30, 60, and 90 days, as I can sell most horses in 30 days, providing the price is right.  You tell us what you expect to get out of the horse your wanting to sell and we will attempt to sell it over that price to cover a commission for us, plus expenses (feed, farrier, etc)  We will be obligated to tell you if your way out of line on what you are wanting to get on your horse, the market is down.  Don't expect a 500.00 dollar horse to sell for 1500.00 and for us to go without a commission, because we are not going to be able to do that.  Be reasonable on your expectations.  Regardless of what you paid for your horse, bare in mind, the horse market is not what it was a year or more ago.
We will not be able to accept, broodmares, horses that are not broke to ride, studs or under the age of 3 years old.  We don't mind working with some issues that horses might have, but if your horse is known to buck, rear up, bolt and run away, expect a phone call asking you to come and get your horse, you don't pick up the horse, then we haul it to the next auction.  We don't sell crazy horses, or horses that buck or rear up, best thing you can do is take that kind of horse to an auction.  We don't want to get hurt and we don't want our customers to get hurt.  We reserve the right to not accept a horse that we feel we are unable to work with or is not safe.  We will not accept any sick or lame horses.  All horses must be saddle broke.

If your horse does not sell in the 30 to 45 day contract time, you are responsible for board, farrier and Vet.  Contract will state that before you can pick your horse up those charges must be paid in full, at agreed board amount and any amount agreed on for the farrier or Vet charges.  The most important part of this is that if charges are not paid, then the horse will be sold for the amount owed and if we are unable to get the total amount the owner will be responsible for the difference.

News about feed:  In order to make things easier for us and sellers, we have decided that it would be easier for everyone for the seller to buy feed, rather than us to charge for it.  I have no problem buying the feed for you at whatever Jackson Bros or Merkel feed store are charging, but feed will have to be bought or brought with you for the first 30 days.    How much will depend on your horse.  Horses 14 hands and up.  2 bales of coastal and a bag of feed, so for 28 days, 8 bales and 4 bags of feed.  You will not  be charged for boarding, once the horse sales, but Vet and farrier charges will be taken out of the sale price.  If your horse needs to be trimmed when he/she gets here, then you will need to pay the farrier charge at that time.

Minimum commission per horse is 200.00.

All horses must have a current coggins, prefer they have been trimmed, but we can have that done, while they are here, if owners are unable.

Note:  In inclement weather, we cannot promise your will get rode
